Immersing yourself into nature as a powerful detox has a myriad of health benefits that can really, in particular, be of aid to individuals battling with addiction and substance abuse issues.  Since detoxification is an integral element to getting clean from drugs and alcohol it is important to discuss some of the less obvious methods of detoxing, namely a nature detox.

Full immersion in nature through what is known as forest bathing is an excellent tool to keep in your health arsenal.  By isolating yourself in nature without electronics or a cellphone you can tap into the healing power radiating around you.  The ancient Japanese termed this method forest bathing and it can have a profound impact on your psyche and general wellbeing.  Most of us live in the big city with nothing but obnoxious traffic and loud noises inundating our personal space.  By taking some time to deviate from that environment which is such a far cry from a natural and balanced state we in turn go back to our homeostatic state.  This is where ideas come to us and we live in harmony with the world around us.  The animals and the wildlife become our muse and we enjoy a heightened sense of creativity and peace of mind that rarely comes from being in urban areas full of harsh lighting and even harsher people at times.
