Austin Harrouff a 19-year old student at Florida State University is in custody after a drug fueled rampage that left a couple dead and their neighbor in critical condition.  Authorities have attributed the deadly incident to a psychotic episode brought on by the dangerous synthetic drug known on the streets as N-Bomb.

What Exactly Happened?

Harrouff had been having dinner with his mother and father at a local Duffy’s restaurant in Palm Beach county before an argument broke out and he stormed off in a rage.  His mother had called police searching for her son in the hours leading up to the murder.  She had revealed to police that her son had been undergoing delusions of grandeur feeling that he had superpowers and that he was here to protect people.  Unfortunately quite the opposite turned out to be true and he used his perceived powers to murder two innocent people and seriously injure another.

After leaving the restaurant Harrouff had stumbled upon a Martin County couple John Stephens III and Michelle Mishcon in the garage of their home where they were known to enjoy drinks on occasion.  Harrouff then assaulted and stabbed the couple repeatedly when their good samaritan neighbor Jeff Fisher bravely attempted to save them before he himself was stabbed at least 5 times and fled to call police.

When police arrived at the scene the six foot 200 pound teen was hovering over Stephens chewing the flesh from his face.  It took more than 3 officers to subdue Harrouff, whom they said was making guttural and primal noises like some kind of animal.  The grisly and horrific event lead investigators to declare the couple dead at the scene from multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma.

What is N-Bomb?

N-bomb is a deadly synthetic bath salt, which also goes by the chemical moniker of 2C-I-NBOMe and has been the latest nightmare coming from the war on drugs.  The drug is known to stimulate the neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine, which can result in extreme paranoia, psychosis and superhuman bouts of strength.

Medical professionals have also alleged that the student may have had underlying psychological issues like bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.  The usage of N-Bomb may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back in this case and may have sent him over the edge.
